This week’s challenge at Gina K’s stamp TV is to combine a
flower focal image with using a die to emboss…not cut. It took a little thinking and planning, but
here is what I came up with:
After taping off the edges of a piece of white cardstock, I
sponged on Gina K ink (Innocent Pink and Tomato Soup). While the ink was wet, I brushed on
Perfect Pearls (Biscotti). The panel was
then “embossed” with the “Retro Cutting Plate” from Taylored Expressions.
When I use any kind of sprays on a project, I always have
extra paper around to create some interesting backgrounds from the “extra”
spray left on the mat. The flower on
this card was stamped onto a scrap of one of those art orphans. The Gina K stamp is from from the “Especially For You Duo”. I used Archival Ink (Potting Soil)
and Gina K Fine Detail Clear embossing powder, then fussy cut it.
I finished the card with ribbon from Gina K (sorry, I couldn’t
find it in their shop), a sentiment tag (Gina K “Happy Birthday Duo”) and some “gems” from my stash that I altered with Copic Marker. I also used Distress Ink (Fossilized Amber)
to distress the edges of the white papers.
The paper is from Gina K and Club Scrap.
Thank you for stopping by!
Stunning card, Rose. I had to come by and read how you made it, great job! I really like how you did the two tone panel, it gives the card more interest. Thank you for playing along this week over at StampTV.
