Super Bowl Sunday

I am a big football fan. Normally, I like watching the Super Bowl even when my beloved Green Bay Packers are not playing. But, this year I just couldn’t bring myself to watch. I guess I had enough of all the hype associated with the game, the commercials and the half time show. So, instead of watching, I played around in my scrap space. This card…
…meets three challenges over on the Club Scrap Forum: 2/17 Card Sketch, 2/17 NBUS (never before used texture stamp/stencil) and 2/17 Tools and Stash (use enamel dots or other shapes).

The background was made using Alcohol Ink (Sunset Orange, Sunshine Yellow and Pearl Mixative) on Yupo paper, then dabbing Blending Solution through my never before used Tin Tiles stencil from Club Scrap. The focal image was a never before used stamp also from Club Scrap (Moroccan Spice), stamped with Library Green Archival Ink and embossed with clear WOW embossing powder. I then fussy cut out the image.

Here are the other supplies I used:

**Paper from Club Scrap and Ranger Alcohol Ink Yupo.

**Sentiment stamp is from Club Scrap (Blossom kit), stamped with Distress Embossing Ink, embossed with Apricot Zing embossing powder.

**Circle die is from Spellbinders.

**Enamel dots from Club Scrap (Color Me Happy kit), altered with Copic Marker Y38.

**Ribbon from Club Scraps (Boardwalk kit).

My Pet Panda

Simon Says Stamps Monday challenge is celebrating the love of our pets. Ok, so I know that pandas are wild animals, but they are so cute and cuddly looking, and I’ve seen some great videos that show how much fun they are. I wish I could have one as a pet…that counts, right? Here is the card I made:
This is a pretty simple card for me. Here are the supplies I used:

**Paper from Club Scrap.

**Sentiment stamp is from The Stamps of Life.

**Panda die and the red square die are from Spellbinders.

**Bamboo embossing folder is from Darice.

**I used Black Soot Distress ink on the edges, and Onyx Black Versafine ink along with Gina K. Designs Detail Clear EP for the sentiment.

**Ribbon from Club Scraps “Constellation” kit.

It is time to go feed my pet panda...or maybe just watch a cute video of one.

Sympathy Challenge

I always find it a bit challenging to make a sympathy card.  I never want it to look too “sad”, but I don’t want it to look too cheerful either.  This week’s Stamp TV challenge over at Gina K. Designs is to simply make a sympathy card.  It is easier to make one for a creative challenge and have it on hand then to make one as needed.  Here is what I came up with:
For the background, I tried out a “stamping with water” technique that I learned from this Jennifer McGuire video.  The focal image and sentiment are stamped onto an art orphan that I created a long time ago.  Not sure what supplies were used, other than I can tell that gesso was involved.  I colored the stamp with Dusty Concord and Peeled Paint Distress Markers before stamping.  By using my MISTI, I was then able to stamp over that with Distress Embossing ink and emboss it  using Gina K. Designs Fine Detail Clear embossing powder.

Here is a list of the other supplies I used:

**Paper from Gina K Designs (base) and Club Scrap.

**Flower stamps (both on the background and the focal image) are from Gina K. Designs “With Love and Prayers Mini Stamp Set”, sentiment stamp is from Gina K Designs “Scripty Sayings”.

**Ribbon from Gina K. Designs, altered with Prickly Pear Gina K Designs ink.

**I used Dusty Concord Distress ink on the background, and Amethyst Club Scrap Hybrid ink to distress the edge of the focal image.

**The sentiment was embossed using Tannenbaum Green Gold powder from Lindy’s Stamp Gang.
